June 26 ‘24 – The Legend Of Korra

Today’s queer animation is “The Legend Of Korra” while it’s not centered around being queer and doesn’t really show it you can see Korra and Asami falling in love. The show is 4 seasons and it’s the sequel to “Avatar: The Last Airbender”. I do believe that if we got a season 5 we would have seen them together because there’s a comic book or graphic novel series that picks up right from the last episode and they get together. I have yet to read them because I’m having a hard time finding them for free anywhere but I when I do I definitely will be reading it.
I hate to say I never saw Avatar until the live action on Netflix came out. I didn’t think it would interest me but I always saw Korra on Netflix and almost watched it a few times. I ended up watching the animated Avatar and loving it so I started Korra right after and I dare to say I liked Korra a little bit more than Avatar.
I know that sounds crazy because Korra got a lot of hate when it came out and still gets a lot of hate but what people don’t realize is that it’s not Avatar so if you watch it expecting to be the same or similar to Avatar you’re probably not going to like it. I do wish we got more seasons because I would have loved to see Korra and Asami together on my TV instead of little moments hinting at it but I’m still glad it happened in a book series. This is still one of my favorite shows and at least we get to see their feelings for each other grow over the 4 seasons and sometimes I like to try and pin point when each one of them realized their feelings for each other when I re watch it!
I know this is more of a queer comic book but I still really like the show and it’s something you would have to watch anyway if you wanted to read the comics so I decided to go ahead and use it for todays queer animation. Happy watching!
